BMW Performance strut braces

I imagine a noob question here, but why can't XIs use the same strut braces as non-XIs?

there is a crossbar that obstructs us from installing new bars (at least that would be the most obvious answer). I just got an Mforce strut bar and cut into one set of the holes and was able to get it on without removing the bar.

I put the Performance (non carbon fiber) strut brace on my '06 330xi with no problems. I don't know if the carbon fiber one has different dimensions though...

i dont think that would work on a 335xi model.
