Door Speakers
Now that I've added L7 tweeters, Blaupunkt THA555 amp and SWS-8 subs, its sounding really good - but I'm now thinking of upgrading the midrange speakers.
Questions; - the standard door speaker used to produce all the highs - after plugging in the tweeter, will this still be the case or would plugging in the tweeter somehow get a crossover to turn it into just midrange?? - If I add a L7 midrange, will this also play highs or will that be crossovered out? - generally, is this worth upgrading? The standard midranges must be crap, and look cheap compared to the L7 midrange speakers? Cost will be around £100 for a pair of L7 midranges. - is there any point in upgrading the rears - even adding rear tweeters? Cheers |

The Alpine kit gives you a set of cross overs which remove the high freq from the mid speaker. At present you are plugging the tweeter direct into the mid which means they are both outputting in yours at the moment.
Changing the mid to logic 7 will still result in outputting high freq unless you fit a cross over. By the way, the mid in the Alpine kit looks identical to the logic 7 one but has a different part number so dont know if it is the same. As for the rear, adding tweeters will make zero difference in the front as they are effectively rear fill only, they will just improve the sound for people in the back!!!! |
