Rhino Ramps enough clearance for exhaust installation? AE
Waiting for my AE exhaust, was wondering if I would be able to install it myself. Would it be better to bolt it up off the car and then have a friend help me put it place, or build the exaust on the car? I just have Rhino ramps, no jack stands.

I think it can be done with ramps, but I did mine with a lift. I also bolted it up one section at a time, i.e. didn't build it first. It was a very easy installation on a lift (a bit more than an hour taking my time) but I'm sure it'll be more of a challenge with ramps.

It can be done with rhino ramps, but as I335 said, it'll be more of a challenge than on a lift.
Passing on the recommendation from AE, build it on the car one piece at a time leaving the bolts loose until you get the whole system on. This will help with alignment of the tips at the back. Then once you have it where you like it, tighten everything up. Good luck!

I have installed/uninstalled my exhaust several time using ramps. I just back the car up onto ramps, which allows me to get to the rear half of the car easily, and then I just jack up the front passenger side of the car to give me enough clearance to work up front at the downpipe connections. So, yeah, it can be done on ramps... just not very comfortably.

I used ramps to install the DPs so you can do it for an exhaust.
Actually, I had to put the stock one back on to go to the dealer. It was done on ramps.

i did DPs on ramps as well...NEVER AGAIN...crazy neck muscle work out....i think its just better to get a nice jack and a set of jack stands if you dont have access to a lift.

I just did an AE install on Rhino Ramps. Can it be done? Yes, it most certainly can. Is it fun? Most certainly NOT! Besides, I'm a big guy (6'0" - 245 lbs) which means I'm pretty thick, so I couldn't use my creeper. So the only way I could do it was ramping the front to get to the DP bolts, then switching the ramps to the rear for most of the install, then switching back to ramping the front again to reinstall the DP bolts, and a final ramping in the rear to tighten everything up. Whew!
Right around 2.5 hours start to finish. Well, closer to three since I had to take a 30 minute break to run to the parts store for a T50 socket...... And, wrestling the stock E90 exhaust around all by yourself is quite a workout! The removal of the stock exhaust was by far the hardest part. I've come to hate those damn rubber exhaust hangers! Installation was considerably easier because the AE can be done in sections.

Have a friend help you too. It can make it a bit easier than doing it yourself.
