Broken Wheel Lock
So I just got my car less than one month ago. I took it in today to get winter tires put on at an independant shop. I guess when the dealership had originally put on the wheel locks, they put them on so tight that the shop could not even get them off. The wheel lock key actually snapped in half trying to get one of the wheels off!
I already had a service appointment scheduled at my local dealer for next Wednesday, so I am having them take care of the unremovable wheel lock at that point, and put on my new winter tires. Do you think I can get anything free out of the dealer for this, like at least free tire installation for wasting my time? I wasted two hours this morning at the shop, and now have to lug my tires over to BMW (in two trips... all four tires won't fit in my car). |

I had the same problem, although I managed to get the wheel lock off with a breaker bar and a lot of effort.
Seems like the stealership put them on with an impact gun and torqued the crap out of them
