Well, assuming that the optional alarm works with the standard bmw key. Is it possible to get an alarm installed from cartoys or some company like that, and it working still work from the key. By the way, how do you control the alarm through the key?

nope..the factory remote is programed with its alarm. the alarm works with the fob by the unlock and lock button If. "cartoys" installs a aftermarket alarm you will get a aftermarket remote. if "cartoys" installs a OEM alarm then your remote will work, but has to get programmed by the dealer from what i heard.

one for starting a car and two for just the alarm itself so the answer is NO!
