V3 firmware update froze

I tried and tried with Vista last night and eventually got it to work by fiddling with the COM port settings, rebootting and yes, I had my laptop plugged in and on full power mode. Got back home and tried with my trusty XP and no problems whatsoever. Stay the hell away from Vista for this.

Also, please make sure you're using a good quality USB->Serial adapter, the one from Radio Shack seems the best. I wasted countless hours with a generic one that simply would not consistently be recognized by XP or Vista as a COM port. The Radio Shack USB->Serial cable worked right away!
