The power of ignorance is strong within this thread.
Every car on the planet that needs to pass emissions is "designed" to work with diverter valves so BMW did not choose to run them over a BOV, that is what they have to run (I'm not saying that they would choose a BOV though, which is clearly not their intention since they even disguised the turbo spool on this car for the most part). Basically it comes down to preference. If you like the sound of a BOV then go for it, if not, then you could upgrade your DV's. Its like the difference between a loud exhaust and a quiet one. Choose whatever will bring you more satisfaction when you hop behind the wheel of your car, not what other people tell you based on their sometimes misinformed opinons that they use to draw correlations between their own preferences and actual facts.

btw, is the Riss Racing DV the only re-circulatory BOV that makes that "psshh" noise? maybe the OP should look into that... I'm not so comfortable with the release into atmosphere since our cars were designed to recirculate...

There is always enough space. There is a lot of room to move the bov around. Just do it!!!

lol thanks boostedbmw. well i sort of have a problem right now, i recently bought the afe intake, and was sort of happy with it. until my friend told me about the downsides, with the loss of hp... etc... so i was thinking about getting the riss racing intake, but i was reading that it won't fit with the bov for some reason?
so i was thinking, i might as well just keep the afe intake, and get a bov. what do you guys think? |
