Help with Navigation Arrow Display
Does anyone know how to get the arrow directions on the small screen when using the navigation ?
It used to work before, and after a Progman update, it doesn't anymore. Basically, the navigation pane shows you the direction, but as you near an intersection, or a turn, etc...it automatically switches to the arrow direction and counts down from 400M , etc... Thanks... |

while in navigation window, push the knob to the right so that the small screen is highlighted. push the knob down for a context menu and you'll see Arrow being one of the options. this will only change the small part of the display leaving the big one as it was.
i hope that's what you were asking.

Another post, a month or so ago also noted that progman 21 removed the "automatic arrow view" functionality.
My E90 is having some work done on it at the moment which involves some reprogramming. I've probably seen the last of my automatic arrow view as well Last edited by London320d; 08-01-2006 at 01:55 AM.. |

My brother mentioned me the same problem but I have never noticed it before. Do you guys know why it was removed? It isn't a issue for me but I don't see why they would remove it

You have to turn on the split screen setting under one of the options under the i-drive settings menu. I just can't remeber which where it is right now.

A couple of months ago I had some suprious alerts whilst driving. The solution at the time was to reprogram some of the car modules. BMW also advised the dealer to change a module. This part has just been fitted, and more reprogramming done. The SA described the part changed as the "iDrive controller" (and this description was what was on his screen as well). However this appeared to be a computer module, not the joystick unit. Any ideas which module this might be?. I had to reset many of my preferences ans re-pair my phone wheh I collected the car. The car also underwent a few hours of reprogrmming. Would the dealer automatically be uploading the full latest progman, or would he be patching what already was there?. I was unabe to get this info from the SA- he didnt have that amount of detail in his sheet, and the techs had finished work by the time I could get to the dealer. Anyway, the results of all this are: Still have automatic arrow view iDrive seems a bit snappier (still some delays, but they seem maybe half as long as before) Bluetooth still works with my RAZR V3 (not thoroughtly tested in calls yet) Voice commands still work as before and with same accuracy, but less delay. Appologies for not getting all of the info, but hopefully our resident techs can fill in some of the gaps. |
