Limp/Morning Start-up Problem
Been having a issue with morning starts/cold starts for the past couple of months and finally took my car in last week to get it checked out. They told me that the Low Pressure Fuel Pump was bad and that they would need to replace it to fix the problem. The also noted that the HPFP was fine.....So i get the car back the other day and guess what...Problem is still there. Started the car this morning and it was coughing like crazy and almost shut off on its on. It smoothed out for a second and then a LIMP code came up on my dash.
Q: Is there any way i can get that code read after restarting the car and having it go away? I know a GT1 can read and clear it, but the closest one to me is about 2 hours away. Also, what other parts would be effecting this issue....Spark-Plugs? HPFP? Both? |

based on your title I was afraid you were unable to satisfy your women in the morning. Glad that is not the case.

Does this happen with the car back to stock? Also, apply some throttle to see if it changes anything just after starting. But IMO, it sounds fueling related.

I would not cast anything in stone at this point. But as mentioned, it appears to be fueling related.
On a personal note, it looks like for those of us who will be long term owners, a set of tools for the fuel rail system will be a necessity. At least then, we should be able to help one another out as warranties expire. |

I certainly agree. It is a great way to share the expense and allow many access to something they will rarely, if ever, use.

Yes the key words are rarely use, and when it does come time to use it, it would cost you almost nothing because the expense is feathered off between all OPs that have contributed! Someone should start a service for something like this, but the members must pass a vigorous id check!!!!lol

Sounds like your fuel pump is bad, same happened with mine. And if you have 30k+ mi, change your spark plugs too.
