Bluetooth voice commands for Non iDrive

I have a non iDrive car but it has bluetooth. I am wondering what voice commands i can use. Can i tell it the name of my caller and it will dial? I tried it earlyer today but it didnt work. Also I am using a Motorola SLVR and had no problem with pairing it up.

You need to enter names into the car's contact list. You can't just use the voice commands that you use with your phone. Unfortunately the commands they show you in the manual are wrong. Search the board. I know the proper commands to store names are in here somewhere. I can't remember what I used since I haven't updated any of my address book in the car since February. You can use the voice commands to dial a number by simply activating the system, say "Dial number", wait for the system to ask you to say the number, it will echo it back to you and say "continue" and then you just have to say "dial" and it will dial. With the voice you just say "Dial name" and then it asks you to say the name, it echos back with "Would you like to dial <name>" and you say "yes" and it dials. It's pretty slick and one of the most used features on my car.

If your phone is able to transfer the phonebook to the car, then you can save time by just saying 'Call <name>'.
