HD Radio option for E92

Does anyone have more information on the HD Radio option for the E92? In the 328/335 military pricing guides it says it will be a $500 option "from 09/06". The just released dealer pricing guide makes no mention of this option. If the military guide is right it sounds like it won't be available on production builds until September. I wonder if this will be a black box option that can be installed at a later time like the Sirrus Radio or must be done at the factory?

It sounds like from the latest dealer bulletin that if you order the NAVI and HD radio options together the traffic/weather feature will not work. It is probably because the information is carried on a FM subcarrier that the HD radio is not setup to receive or decode. I am not sure if that can be fixed is a future firmware upgrade.

I guess I need to decide weather I want the HD radio more than traffic/weather. I am leaning towards HD radio because I would use that all the time and I don't like Sirrus radio.
