questions about Helix BOV
so i have been reading around and am very interested in a Blow Off Valve. Alot of people say that you will loose power, you will come across problems, and this scares me. I love the sound of a BOV but dont want to get one because of what people say. Helix just came out with a bov that goes onto your diverter valve pipe which seems better to me because you still have the same charge pipe. anbybody have any facts about this? anybody have this BOV and know how it sounds? please help!

I have a Tial BOV on a CP-E pipe. I have not had any problems with it, or detected a loss in power. Im not sure how the Helix sounds, but the Tial is very mellow (which i like a lot more than an HKS type of sound). It's pretty cool that it fits in the stock charge pipe! |

also im putting my flame suite on for this but is it very stupid to get a BOV on a automatic tranny. ive been driving around and its a habit for me to let go of the throttle under boost just so i can hear my intake woosh. so i probobally will hear the BOV plenty of times.

I think its stupid but either way BOV or DV... both make the same sound. I wouldnt second guess buying another Helix product, they really stand by their products and will do everything to make sure you're happy with your purchase. I'd say go ahead buy the BOV and post a review and video clips. |

I just ordered one on the 23 and I am interested to see how it will do on an auto. I am so used to driving manuals that I didint even think before I bought it, then I relized I drive an auto now. I will only hear the bov now when I step off the gas but all in all it will be better for the motor in the long run with the increased boost.

I've noticed on a tuned car with an intercooler that the BPV sometimes unseat under hard acceleration resulting in a hesitation (leaking boost). A BOV with the proper seat pressure resolved this issue. This was the case with our car

Forge DV doesnt make a sound??????? Sorry but you are 100% wrong. Forge DV's does make a slightly louder than stock sound. Maybe you're running forge DV's on a stock motor with no tune? Or just using a stiff spring. |

The Forge DVs could be heard clearly at around 13 psi or higher. Also, having an aftermarket intake seems to make the sound more pronounced, even with the stock DVs. The sound is very similar to having an actual BOV... Otherwise, they are very quiet under normal driving situations. |
