I'll be buying and installing my alarm at the same dealer I purchased my 08 sedan.

They quoted me $540 (parts + installation)

Is that a good deal?

nope...just buy the alarm and install yourself. the only thing the dealer needs to get involved with is the software activation.

if that includes tax then I say just go for it. Buying it yourself would be $235 + $150 dealler activation. Save yourself the headache with ordering and installing yourself and just let the dealer do it for an extra $150. Especially if you don't have experience with installing electronics

$150 for activation?

It takes the dealer all of 30 min to activate. I was able to get mine activated for free.
