Can't go wrong with a used Suby.

B&R are nice too. Omega, Breitling, all good.

Do you want something more common or less?

Depends what statement you want to make with the watch.

im looking for something classy and stylish, something that goes with anything. nothing too hip but nothing too grandpa either.

my father has the Cartier Santos 100 chrono in gold/black and although its classy, it just gets too many looks and is just plain huge.

Last years' Maurice Lacroix Pontos Chronographe.

The Pan is sick, but it's about 3 times more then your budget. It's a beatiful masterpiece but I dont think I can justify spending that much on a watch...
