extending sun visor mod

hey,

i was wondering if any one has done an extending sun visor mod. i know most mercedes and lexus's have them. Does BMW sell them as an accessory? looked through the accessory booklet, but didn't seen the thing i want. or does anyone know of any other way of doing it?

for those who don't know what I'm talking about. Im referring to the sun visors that go one each of the passenger and driver side. when you fold them down and swing them out (towards the door), they have a telescopic pole to extend the visor backwards, to block out the sun if it is behind you.

The only problem i see with this one is that you have to find one that can carry the power needed to power the mirror light on the visor.

Attached i s a picture that conveys essentially what the extending visor does. i could not find a picture with an extending pole, so i settled with a visor that has an extending plastic cover thing.

SO has anyone done this successfully? any tips? thanks.

i'm looking to extend them sideways but also down. they are just not wide enough for me (in my 135 or in the several e90's i've driven) Can I retrofit some 7 series visors or something?

bump. Seems like many other cars have this feature, seems there must be an accessory out there.

My 04 350z had them, I used them more than I thought I would... Kind of miss them. I'd be interested to see if someone finds a way to put some on.

You think they would have them, they are pretty handy at times.

I guess if you have good wrap-around ones, but the light comes in at the side. I may have to get a piece of card board and use rubber bands! :-(
