ECU re map EVOLVE or DMS
Hi I've recently purchased a 335i and want to get the most bhp and TQ possible (in safe limits) from an ECU re map but must be hassle free i.e. no limp mode problems!
The two companies that I have spoken to are Evolve and DMS, both seem very professional and are similar on price. If anyone has experienced both re maps I would appreciate your feedback and advice as i am new to the tuning side of things. Please list the bhp and TQ and whether its been tuned by DMS/ EVOLVE. Thanks James |

Hi James,
Sorry for being blunt but best bet is for you to do a search and this will tell you all you need to know. Using the highest power and torque figures as your main criteria is fine, but you need to remember that many variables can impact on what those figures are, so just because someone may say they have ***bhp and ***lb/ft doesn't mean that their car is more powerful than another one which may have lower figures but will have been tested differently. E92 Fan, Marlie, BMWBailey, ZK1 have all had remaps in last few months from either Evolve or DMS. Evolve were the first tuner up and running with a map for the 335i and the others have closely followed suit. PM these guys and read their threads. Jules. |

Has anyone backed to backed a DMS and an EVOLVE re mapped 335i on the same day at a track day/ drag strip?
Basically which one is quicker? I am aware of the various factors such as octane level? etc that can cloud the results, but generally one must be slightly quicker than the other. |

Ultimately, the differences between the two maps are negligible in terms of outright speed - you're talking about cars that will do 0-60 in less than 5 secs, regardless of which company you go to have a remap. Are you getting the map for pub bragging rights, or because you want a faster car that is more driveable on a daily basis???
