Alarm question "locking chirp and unlock"

i just got back from vacation yesterday and my car is been sitting for 18 days. my cousin starts it everyday. Then notice that when i lock the car i don't here the single chirp sound but when im unlocking it i here the chirp2x sound. i check out the settings on my cluster and everything is good, i never had this kind of problem before, and im hoping that you guys have some ideas before i take it to our local stealership.

sounds like a car key memory issue... Recheck the settings...

Mine has never chirped. How does one set it or unset it for that matter? I didn't see anything in the book on how to do this.

If your equipped with i-drive, it's in one of the menus. I'm at work and my car is being serviced today or I would verify, but I think it's called something like confirmation or something.

My car doesn't chirp, but it blinks when I close it. When I open I have chosen not to blink on the personal profile, you can go there by clicking on the wheel of the blinking stalk.

You get the chirp only if you have the alarm but I think it's an all or nothing setting where you get audible confirmation on both locking and unlocking and can not selectively stop one. With or without the alarm you can set it to flash the corner lights.

Are you guys talking about the 'chirp' when you lock/unlock the car? Cuz mine doesnt do it either.

is there a setting in the iDrive system for the chirp?
