AUX jack problem?

Do any of you guys have a AUX jack (iPod) problem where the sound is really quiet even at max volume? I don't want to go buy another cable if it's a problem.

maybe install the cable. . .

could be a lot of things. cable, mp3 quality, volume on both the iPod and the stereo, etc.

on the stereo change the aux volume higher. i think standard is 0. goes up to 6
