Nav and iDrive knob

Just had the car for a week, i got a question about Nav.

When i search for POI or enter an state, etc, i keep hitting the "wall" and have to force the knob to continue scrolling, even if i KNOW ther are further options, for example, when i imput state, it only display down to Alaska or something, but the knob wont smoothly go down to other states. I have to literally turn the knobhard and force the scroll to go through. (the down arrow is there to indicate ther are more options). Also, i am unable to backtrack my scroll to the previous screen, so if i scroll past what i am looking for i have to start all over again. Is it a general problem or should i get my SA on the phone? If not, is there a problem with my car? I just got it last week and i am worried i am going to spend next week in a dealership.

The iDrive controller knob incorporates a kind of force feedback, which is the extra resistance you are feeling when scrolling. Whilst scrolling the force is modulated and becomes solid when you hit the end of the list.

I don't know about the unable to scroll back to the previous screen issue. Maybe someone else with the US nav disc can confirm, but you should just be able to scroll backup whrough any of the lists in the nav system. The only exception that I can think of may be the list of possible matches when entering destinations from voice commands.

I don't that theres anything wrong with the car.

Yes, that's annoying, but normal for scrolling down. And you should be able to scroll back up.

I dislike the feedback as well unless it is a solid end of scroll. Usually the steering wheel scroll buttons perform the same function so I use them in that situation.
