iPod MOST update-> another 30 days!
Well, I went 0 for 2 at the dealer this morning. Despite having received a call that my iPod adapter was in, and also calling to confirm with parts that the alarm for my June 06 production 325i was also available, I got to the dealer this morning at 8:00 AM and left more than an hour later with neither. Both are still delayed (as many suspected) and the latest word on the iPod Gen II MOST adapter is 30 more days. The updated alarm will also be available "soon," whenever that is.
Pure Speculation: I can only hope that the delay is so that when the new iPod adapter ships, it actually says "iPod" on the menu and gives you real words for Genre, Artist, Album, etc., instead of CD1, CD2, CD3, etc. It would also be incredible to be able to fill the assist window with album artwork from the iPod while listening, and I heard a rumor that both are being considered/worked on, but I'd hate to put the next mortgage payment on either being the case. I bet it's standard bug fixes to just make the damn thing even work. On the plus side, I picked up a mobility kit, wheel locks, and ordered the two chrome tailpipes for my 325i that all you 330i drivers out there already have. So I got that going for me, which is nice. They did give me a free car wash for having to sit around, so at least they recognized they had set an incorrect expectation with me. My SA was excellent also, and I look forward to getting the call to go back for real next time. -Steve

BMW ironing out bug fixes? Are you *sure*?
It'd be lovely to get rid of CD1, CD2, etc. It just makes no logical sense to have it that way, but then again this is iDrive, and we love it oh and ps, chrome tailpipes RULE. Got them for our 325, with the sports spoiler on the boot, and carbon fibre on the front. Looks the mutt's nuts (addicted to smiley faces too..) |
