Ran Over Spilt Paint
This might be moved to the exterior care forum. I ran over some fresh white paint. It's all over the wheel well and tires. Luckily only a small amount hit the paint near the wheel well. Any ideas on how to get this off, both the plastic in the wheel well and off the paint. Thanks all.

Thiner is supposed to work. Best to go by either a Detail shop or an autobody shop. Should be simple for them to fix. Do it soon though.

I guess the answers kinda depend on what kind of paint it is. A latex paint should be pretty easy to get off all the surfaces for example. Any idea what kind it is?

I have heard to use Fresh Lemon/Lime juice...this way it doesn't hurt the paint of your car....but it does sound funny

i had a similar issue with a street striper. I was amazed how much paint was all over the car, sides, under carriage and on the wheels/rim area that I could not see.

I ran over a puddle of white oil-based paint with my E46 that someone spilled while leaving a Sherwin Williams store.
Because it was oil-based, I had to use mineral spirits to get the paint off. It worked decent and did not harm the clear coat, but I never got it all out of the wheel wells. Make sure to reapply wax after the cleanup. |

Man, sorry to hear that. I have no idea what to tell you, other than pray it's not oil or acrylic paint. The same solvent to get it off if the same solvent that softens the car's paint.
A few vehicles ago, I was on my way back frmo picking up my new car, and had a pickup truck in front of me with no tailgatge. A gallon can of beige paint rolled off and exploded in the street in front of me. I had it all over the front, tires, wheels, and driver's side. Some was even on the windshield and roof. It was about 8:30 at night, and I just pulled into the first driveway I saw, knocked on the door, and begged to use the hose. The guy was real cool and even came out and helped me wash off the car. I was lucky it was latex though. |

Indeed - I had this happen from splatter from a paint spill in the middle of the road. I thought it was dry when I ran over it... not so much.
Anyway - it was well baked on by the time I could clean it, but since I had waxed the car, it pretty much peeled right off. Good luck!
