Got my lease rate for E92

My car is a 328i, MSRP came in just under $42,000.

The terms were: $3,500, 12,000 miles, 36 month. With tax, title, everything, he said it will be $579 per month, which is like $685 with zero down for a 328.

What do you guys think?

hmm...not bad for the time being considering it's a new model. Hey ever consider doing ED for it?? you'd save a bunch of money thus you might be lower your payment a bit. I think you can get the same payment (or lower) with no money down.

EDIT: you should really consider what Pretender said. While leasing will get you lower payments, when you add it all up you dont really save that much. Accord to your post you will end up paying about $24k over 3 years; that's 8k a year. You should just finance it another 2 years (2 x $8k=$16k) you can almost own your car since you would pay $40k at the end of 5 years. I think you should just buy it so you can do whatever you want to it. If after 2 years you decide that you no longer want the car, you can sell it since you're gonna lose the same amount $ in depreciation as leasing. G'luck with your decision.

Sounds steep with $3500 down. 579 sounds like a no money down payment to me.

I dont like to keep cars over 3 years, so there is no point in buying the car. I asked and my SA said the lease rate is better than the financing rate. Im surprised nobody else has heard anything about it. I just did a little research on bmwusa.com, for 20 bucks more a month i could get a 530i smg... kinda makes ya wonder

I think you need to calculate the payment yourself with nothing down (putting $ down on a lease is a mistake). You better know negotiated cap, MF and residual along with acquistion to know what kind of 'deal' you are getting.

never put money down on a lease. Keep the money and invest it or put in a savings account

Outrageous!
My 330i sedan with an MSRP of over $44k leased for 36mo/15k mi/yr, inception fees only, ended up at $559/mo, and I probably should have gotten it under $550. I realize the coupe is brand new, but I wouldn't pay over $550 for that car, especially a 328!

Then you won't be getting one for a while. Most dealers are getting MSRP for the coupe at release. Once the car is a bit older then I could see a $550.00 p/m lease payment, but not at release.
