What is DA everyone referring to.. ?
Sorry for a noob question but iw as wondering what the DA people are referring to when they run there cars.
Does DA=Density altitude? If so what is the DA for my area??? Does it have to do with weather ? Anything to do with sea level? Am i making anysense? Sorry for stupid question. I just wanted to know what my conditions are when i drive my car. thank you. |

The DA is pressure altitude corrected for non-standard temperature....
i.e. the standard lapse rate of 2*C/1000' does not apply.... In laymans terms, you will only hear the density altitude being referred to during the summer months. Due to the temperature and humidity on a hot summer day the density altitude is actually higher than your true altitude (i.e. mean sea level) Hope that helps................
