Cute Pup. I have a Shiba as well. Awesome dogs, but hard to train. We had 2, but had to give the rescue one away because they started fighting a lot and shibas fight to the death. As cute as they are, you really have to be tough on them (aka be the pack leader) otherwise they will walk all over you.
Here are some photos of my dog (and a few of the male we had to give away): http://www.flickr.com/photos/radiant...7594052001792/

What's a saddleback?? Quite a bit... Out the door, it was approx. $1700. If I follow the bloodline, I think a dog from 2 litters ago was a dog show champ. Not Haponesa... But I am asian -- i.e. Korean. Quote:
I make sure to discipline him right if I have to. The only problem I'm having right now is that (at 6 months old), he's mounting himself to much larger dogs -- and he's not yet neutered. I have to fix that/it somehow -- no pun intended. |

My roomate just got a shiba inu; what a little fucker. This dog has to be the most obnoxious big-baby dog in the world. I have a 1 yr old husky/something mix, and he is WAY better than this thing was at this age.
Last night I come home, and it looks like a grenade went off in its ass; theres shit ON THE WALL by its cage and its just screaming the whole time I'm trying to give it a shower. Then as im cleaning the cage, IT SHITS AGAIN IN THE LIVING ROOM. When I see it, I GO WTF DOG, and IT KICKS THE SHIT WITH ITS LEG ALL OVER THE ROOM. After that shit I threw it in my dogs cage and let my roomie deal with it because shit, that was allot of shit.

My dog never did anything bad at all although thats a good thing because at 4 months old he weighed 90lbs. its a whole different ball game when a 4lbs puppy pees on the floor as compared to a great dane pup. one thing i can say is that he is a people dog he will not eat if your not home and when we are home he is glued to your hip the whole time. cute dogs by the way. GOOD THREAD!

Dillusion, i think your roommate's shiba is out of control because of the way he's been disciplined. Shiba's are known to be little bitches when they don't get their way, but my HISSSSS [show backhand] always does the trick and he becomes instantly submissive Also, they say the #1 cause of death in shibas is because they're escape artists and get hit by cars, but i've had my dog off the leash plenty of times at the park, and he always manages to behave. As for that Great GODDAYUM Dane, that guy's a beast. I can only imagine how big his turds are... it'll probably be like me picking up my dog (16lbs) lol everytime he goes. anyway, fantastic looking dog. I wish i could have a big dog like that ~ some day... |
