Is this true?
Thanks
The monster gives a true line out - no pre-amp to interfere with the sound. In my e60 I have to crank the volume to similar levels with both the belkin and the monster.

The volume control on the belkin does provide a 'slight' boost on ful tilt, but it also clips and crackles horribly.

I have all of my mp3's normalised to 89dba (use mp3gain) so I get no clipping or distortion - but the down side is that the volume is lower than for another source.

I really would recommend the monster cable over the belkin - and they are about the same price.

The aux in on my e60 is a retro fit, so you can just unscrew the faceplate and pull out the cable (there is quite a bit of slack).

There is a little bulge in the cable near the jack, which contains a capacitor and some resistors. All I did was to cut that out and rejoin the cable.

I think the e90 aux will be the same, but I have no idea how to get to the cable.

On my e60 before the mod the aux in sounded OK, but if I listened to the same track on CD I could detect a discernable difference in bass quality. The aux in was muddy and muffled by comparison.

I had to use the IPOD's EQ to boost the base, which made the 'muffling' worse.

Having snipped out the bits from the cable, the difference was amazing and the volume was slightly increased.

I have the logic 7 and use the monster line out for my 325. It sounds great. If you find the sound too loud or quiet you can adjust aux in volume level independently anyway. I am very impressed with my setup (also includes airclicks)

I actually bought the monster after being hacked off with the belkin cable.
Hi,
Which Monster device are you referring too?
The only ones I can find use FM.
Thanks
