AUDI´S ANSWER TO 135i?
The new S3 is far far away from the 135i performance. Anybody know if audi is preparing a biturbo? I can only imagine an RS3 with a 3.2 biturbo and a new generation haldex that transfers more torque to the rear to match the 135i. I think saab´s new awd has an improved haldex that works better than audi´s haldex system. Does audi have something in the oven? They have previous experience with the 2.7 biturbo engine.
Chipped S3´s are doing the 1/4mile around 14.5-14.6, we have seen stock 4door 335 on the same 1/4mile doing a best 14.3, m3´s stock 14.4-14.3, a stock srt4 dials 14.7, chipped golf mkV 2.0t dialing 14.9. 1650meters above sea level. |

Haven't heard anything on an RS 3, but it could be an interesting car if they chose to build it. Car guys will sneer at the station wagony looking aspect of it though.

In the US market, the 1-series competition in the Audi line is the TT. But at only 250 hp, the Audi TT 3.2 just doesn't have enough engine to compete effectively with the 135i. The TT 2.0t is also short on HP when put head-to-head with the 128i.
The A3\S3\RS3 would be competition with the 1-series 5-door (130i), if BMW ever imported it here. |

i seen a s3 eating up a new m3...
so not really needing a audi answer, but basic power is always better than "aftermarket power"

Thats a previous generation m3 not the new 8cylinder car. The s3 jumps at the begining due to the quattro but I doubt a chipped s3 wil even beat a 6cylinder stock m3, I´ve seen them both run the 1/4mile and the chipped 2.0t S3 is slower.
