most miles on a bmw?
My buddy has a completely original e36 325i with over 250k miles on it...still runs like a champ. I even had it up to the speed limiter

I put 220k miles on my old 86 325es, that I traded in for my first e36. It had the the original clutch in it when I traded it in, which was still functioning perfectly. Wish I still had that car.
A father bought it for his daughter, and she totalled it a month later. |

I've got a 95 325is with 156K that has spent thousands of that on the track. It also spent three years with my sister commuting from Worcester to boston. I think it runs like a champ but I got it half apart right now doing an M3 brake and suspension conversion. and full exhaust.
edit: oh ya original clutch |

Happened in two ways to me... swapped my sti interior with some wrx owner who paid me 1200....but then totalled his car with the interior...and parents bought him a new 06 sti the next week then i sold the entire car to a dealer who marked it up 15% what i sold it to him and then the new owners blew up the engine trying to put a FP red turbo in without any more Engine mgmt. sad. 8( nice to hear all the bimmers are still running! i see a couple in nyc from the 80's and early 90's like an old m6 and even a 318 and from what i can see on the dash looks like about 100-120k in miles

I guess the moral of the story is that you can take care of these cars, and they will take care of you for a long time. However, they can't overcome stupidity and the laws of physics.

I have 147K miles on my '99 E46 328i. Original clutch. I've taken it to over 20 autocrosses. If only the control arms didn't need replacing so often...
