Sorry to hear about your windshield. I also got hit in the windshield by some object that produced about a 1/2 inch star shaped crack. After reading numerous posts about how the windshields on the E90s are thin and very prone to nicks and cracks, I decided to just have my crack fixed as I expect more nicks and cracks to occur in the near future. If you don't need to replace your windshield, I recommend that you also have your crack repaired. If you spend the $$$ on a replacement, and the new one is the same manufacturer as the old one, you will more than likely get another crack the next time some hard object strikes you. If you definetly need a replacement, I know that an OEM with rain sensor will cost about $350 plus installation costs.

crack less than a dollar bill can be fixed. i'd first try to get it fixed, heard that the OEM fitment is always best.

Welcome to the club my friend.

If you need to have it replaced, call your insurance company. They should be able to help you out.

I got my crack repaired at Dee's 15142 Beach Blvd. Huntington Beach. Check out their website at www.deeswindshieldrepair.com. Cost was $60 and it took about 45 minutes. The repair is guaranteed for 10 years and appearance wise, it looks 100% better, but is still noticable. Get the crack repaired as soon as possible otherwise you are risking that the crack will grow forcing you into a replacement.

Happened to me first week I picked car. Here in NJ, there is a $500 deductible on all glass coverage. It sucks because a new window costs $480. Only time glass coverage would be good is if all windows got shot out! Anyhow, it was during winter and it wound up cracking before I could try and repair. Replaced with an OEM Pilkington....good as new.

Check and see if your state allows for repairs covered under comp in your insurance policy. I know SC does that and its no cost to the driver.

I only had to pay my insurance $100 to have mine replaced. Comprehensive deductible.
