New E90 rear lights...

I got a loaner today and it is a 325i. It has 2700 miles on it so it's definitely a 2007. The rear lights of this E90 look like mine, red and white, but the indicator has an orange inset so it looks like the light is just red but when you light up the indicator it flashes yellow. Sort of what the previous generation Jetta and Passat had.

Are these lights new for the E90 and the E92? I'm pretty sure they wouldn't put modded lights on a loaner.

Sorry, I'm at work right now and don't have my camera so I can't take a picture.

EDIT: You guys are right - it's a late 2006.

sounds like they may have switched over to the ones used outside of north america. good thinking on bmw's part because red turn signals suck.

The 325 is not being built for MY 2007. The car is a 2006.

2007 Models = 328 & 335.

Not to mention production doesn't start on the 07 E90's until I believe 1 Sept....

It's just a late run 2006 325i...

It's not uncommon for a manufactor to change things through out the production model year.

I have 2006 325i TiAg, built May 2005, it has the same rear light -- orange under the red for the blinker, and blinks orange -- got it in AZ.

Do they look like these...?

I though US DOT prevented them from using amber in the first place. Something to do with square area of amber in relation to reds or somewhere along those lines.

Pics are from a euro spec 320i, euro delivery...DC metro area

Had a good laugh over this one. Typically the Germans don't eff up these details but I guess this one slipped through quality control. The right light is the Euro spec, the left light is US spec. Maybe I should change the title of this thread.

That's crazy!! One light's different...someone at the dealer must be playing around with the inventory.
