ed time frame

well i am a new member and have come across a ton of info here. i have been viewing for a couple of months and i have let you talk me into a bmw vs. a g35, 350z, is350, and a4. i have decided on a 328i with the sports package and 6 speed manual. the only problem is i have yet to decide on what color to get, both in and out. i am between the titanium silver, space gray, sparkling graphite, and montego blue. i plan on going for ed and want to start the paper work asap. i do not think i am going to be able to pick a color until i see the car with the color i want in person and in natural light. so far the 2 i have see were black. at first i considered black but changed my mind after i saw it. i have read that once you place an order you have x amount of days to change color. if someone could walk me through the time frame that wold be great.

thanks,

james

You need to place your order three months before your requested pick-up date. I changed my color about 4-6 weeks before the car actually entered production. My understanding is that you can change colors, options, etc., up to one week before production starts (or so my dealer told me).

whoa. I thought it was only a month before your pick-up date. Then you'd have to wait 6-8 weeks after that for delivery. Total ED time frame should be around 3 months from the day you order the car and the day you get delivery of it at your local dealer.

I was also told I could change items NLT one month before production commenced. For me, that was November 15 and assembly started on 16 December.

Nope. Order 12 weeks before your requested delivery date. Takes 4-8 weeks after you drop it off in Europe to get it to your dealer in the States. I dropped mine off on July 28 and my dealer gets it tomorrow. West Coast deliveries take substantially longer, in my understanding.
