Yes there is space in the boot in the E90I It is the same as the E60 - if you have RFT's the tyre well is used as extra storage space under the boot floor cover.
I still await my call from BMW CC - just chased them again - not that I expect any answer just feel like harassing them as I am pissed off! I think I am going to go non run flats. My wifes car - E46 320 ci sport got a nail in the rear tyre yesterday (non RFTs) - I took it off put on the skinny space saver and took the tryre to get fixed. The cost £10.00 to repair and if it happended to a RFT - you can not repair them! Just thinking I am going to check tonight if the E46 jack will work on my E90 and also if the E46 skinny spare will fit in my tryre well...keep you posted on that one!

If you're talking about this space - I don't think you will get any tyre/wheel in here!

I understand that the e90 suspension is tuned to use runflats and without them would probably be a little soft. The e60 was sold with and without them so you can easily change back if you want.

Hi - sorry about that - you are right there is no space in the E90 for a spare (even a compact spare) - I was in a dream world thinking of my previous E60 and wondering why I changed to an E90!!
Called BMW CC again today and they say they are in discussion with Bridgestone and even BMW can not get a date as to when tyres (18" RFT) will be available. They suggested Michelin which I told them were also not available. Told them I now had to take my car off the road as it is now illegal to drive. I await another call back from them regarding this. Interestingly when I went to a meeting earlier today there was a brand new 330d sport in the car park and it was running on Michelin tyres...wonder why? Either BMW can not get the Bridgestone's to the factory or the Michelin are a better tyre (or just cheaper for them to buy). Am totally pissed off - given all the issues I had with my E60 and now this! It is stuff like this with BMW that makes me I should have saved a chunk of money and got somthing else.

I took out Barclaycard / RAC tyre insurance for £50- equivalent to £150 for 3 years. RAC tyre insurance as a Barclaycard offer Costs £49.99 for 12 months, covering upto £250 per tyre, covering upto £1250 annually with upto £30 for call-out fitters. Covers accidental & malicious damage. Doesn't cover the first £10 of any claim & no claims allowed in the first 30 days. Runflats are definitely covered- I made sure! Have a look at the website info for the small print. I'm assuming BMW offer more than that in their deal? Viv |

Umm so why don't we order spares/ replacements now, and just keep them in the garage ?
So long as we get home, and to the local Tyre fitter we are sorted arn't we ? |
