335ii - how to change dimming mirrors

Hi,
my red nose cone under the rear view mirror does not move to adjust the dimming mirrors. I'm guessing they changed this procedure and did not change the manual. Anybody know how to change the setting for the auto dimming mirrors?

Thanks,
Mike

If it's auto dimming the clown nose will not turn and there is no user setting adjustment that I have heard of.

From the E90 Manual (Page 99):

INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR MIRRORS, Automatic Dimming Feature

The automatic dimming feature of the interior
and exterior mirrors* is controlled by two photo
cells in the interior rearview mirror. One photo
cell is in the mirror frame, see arrow; the other is
on the back of the mirror.

In order to ensure that the system functions
correctly, keep the photo cells clean, do not
cover the area between the interior rearview
mirror and windshield, and do not affix adhesive
labels or stickers of any kind to the windshield
directly in front of the mirror.

Don't know if the E92 is different, but I kind of doubt that it is.

thanks. that sucks because on my 2002 330i i was able to turn the clown nose to adjust the dimming perfectly. I'm finding on the e92 335i at night that i can barely see some cars in my side mirrors - mostly cars without xenon lights.
I'll have to ask my service department if they can do something.

Mike
