325 (2.5litre) Flatspot Update

If any of you 325 owners (with the 2.5litre engine) are experiencing the flatspots discussed on here a few times, then get your car back to the dealer and get them to update the software and reset the ecu. Mine was in today to get this problem looked at and it seems to have done the trick! So, problem sorted!! I'll keep you posted if it rears it's ugly head again!

Actually Canada has the same 3.0 inline 6 on both the 325 and 330 aswell, I think the only differences between Canadian and US models is the standard/optional features they come with.

Thanks for the update nexus66 but my 2.5 litre 325 does not seem to have any flatspots thankfully.

Glad to learn that yours is fixed. Now you can really enjoy the 2.5 litre's power and torque unencumbered. It's great.

It seems that only a few of the early 325s had the flatspot. There was one or two owners on here mentioning it. But at least its fixable!!

Hi Nexus66.

Thanks for the update. I've been away on holiday and was pleased to see confirmation of a fix for this problem. I'll book the car in now!

Just checked with my dealer - they're still on SIP 18.9 and are unaware of any fix. Nexus - do you know what SIP version was downloaded to your car?

My dealer doesn't have the CIP 19.0 yet, so presumable they just loaded the latest they had! Maybe just the act of re-uploaded and resetting did the trick? If you can wait until CIP 19.0 then I'd wait - that was my original plan but my air-con bursting forced me in sooner!

Thanks Nexus. I think that I'll wait for SIP 19.0 as I believe it's due later this month.
