I know on my e46 M it was in the menu if you wanted the full screen. Read the manual or just go play with it until you figure it out.

The '09 is an entirely new Nav system. It has capabilities that the '08 does not.

From what I recall reading, you can't make it full screen in the '08.

And, you can't update to the '09 nav. It isn't a software update - its an entirely different system.

That is correct. The 08's do not have the full screen option.

And, about 90% of the drivers in America will be jealous of you, because you currently own one of the best sports sedans ever built!

so are you saying if we have the '08 version we're actually stuck with no further updates? There are so many incorrect streets built into the '08 version. I cant believe the 2009 update would be all hardware based.

Your confusing a map upgrade versus a system programming upgrade. The maps are updated via a new cdrom or DVD. I would be very happy if they could upgrade the system as well but not counting on it.

The 2009 runs on an entirely different computer than the 2008. There is no way for you to update to the 2009 system.

But, as the above poster notes, wrong streets is just a matter of data and there should be continued data updates.
