Forget saloons buddy, The SE coupe looks classier than the M-Sport, the M-Sport looks more aggressive.

I can't have a coupe at the mo, bro. Got a 2 year old son who it's hard enough to wrestle into a car seat as it is. Trying to get him into one in a coupe would put me in the hospital.

Dealer called me yesterday...because of the snow, delivery of car might be delayed...technicians couldn't make it to work to do the full bmw engine checks and MOT...etc...

My god....I just can't wait to drive the beast home!!!...Been spending my days and nights on this website now looking at pics of Space Grey 335 i cars ...(sad, i know!!!)

Because its an automatic, I was wondering if you guys had any advice on which option to use for a faster performance driving? By performance driving, I mean getting the best/ fastest time at 0-60 and fastest gearshift at optimum rev limit.

Option 1 : driving in Auto mode...

Option 2: driving in M/S mode and using the paddles to change gears

Option 3: driving in M/S mode and not using paddle, thus waiting for the engine to change gear itself (this was recommended by a friend who owns a 335i convert.) He reckons this will provide "optimum" gearshifting...

Any advice?

Nah, it over revs.

Use the paddles in sport and shift up yourself.

Thanks Carlos!!! knew I would get your feedback on this one!!!...

hmmm...I was thinking the same!...that it might actually over rev....

I was also wondering, is there any chance of over reving if I use the paddleshift to down gear before taking corners? lets say approaching a roundabout at 70MPH and quickly downshifting by flicking the paddles...

Anytime bud

No mate, the Autobox is a traditional Autobox in that sense. It will not let you endanger the engine in that way. It will not shift down untill it has the rev range to allow it so.

Un like an SMG transmission which will let you, but thats a sequential manual. Not auto.

What on SMG? Fair enough mate. I thought it would let you over rev it like a manual.

nope it most defintely doesnt. well of course u can take it to the red line and bounce off the limiter but it will never let u over-rev to the point of smoking the engine. also if u were going too fast for the engine speed and wanted to change down, it wont let u.

Yes, SE is the way to go!!!
looking at the pics of SE with AERO Front Lip ....Think they look much better than the M-Sport front. Although I was initially attracted to the M Sport!
