07 335i with or without I-Drive?
In regards to the 07 335i, how useful is the I-Drive? I'm looking at some 335i's that are coming down to my price range, some without I-Drive, some with I-Drive but a little higher priced. How important is it really?

I don't really care for I-drive, and the GPS in these cars is pretty bad in comparison to the aftermarket units.
Having said that, I still got it....why? It looks cool. So I guess it all comes down to personal preference. And not to mention if you decide you want OEM nav in your car later down the road and nice clean look, good luck doing a retrofit. |

I purposely didn't order iDrive because I couldn't stand the way the double hump looks. I don't think I'm missing out on anything. I have a co-worker that has an 08 w/ iDrive and he tells me all the time that the Nav function blows chunks. I also have a Garmin that I use whenever I'm in need to directions, so the nav really wasn't that important to me.
On the other hand, he does appreciate having that bigger screen for all of the other functions like the diagnostic screens, Bluetooth and iPod integration. I have both Bluetooth and iPod and I navigate through the radio screen. It does get annoying sometimes since I have about 40 gigs of music to cycle through, but I've found that making playlists is the key to saving my sanity (not to mention not rear ending anyone). So, to answer your question, I don't think it's that important to have iDrive. At least for me, the aesthetic drawbacks outweighed the functionality of iDrive. |

It's your call. I love it. It's worth it in my opinion.

I already have my own little nav/gps so I don't need I-drive for that. I own an ipod shuffle too so I don't really need the visual Ipod screen. I also have a blackberry so I can't sync it either. The only thing I could think about using it for is a more detailed diagnostic of things. I guess it sounds like it's not that important.
I just wanted to make sure there weren't areas where I could tweak items on the car either performance or diagnostic wise that I couldn't do without it. |

Apart from the Nav, there's nothing that you can do with the iDrive that you can't without.
