Question Oil Change

Hi guys, I'm going for my first oil change on Monday. My car is pre 29. whatever program, built date of 7/07. The car has been running fine since the day I got about a year ago. Here's where my questin is: would the dealer upgrade my car to the newest program while performing the oil change? The car only has about 4,600 miles, runs flawlessly and does not have any turbo lag.

Be sure you're very clear with your SA that you DO NOT want anything updated ........

That said, oil change is an oil change. Unless there are other issues with the car there should be no reason for your car to be updated.

You have to remember that with 29.2 and later, comes the tune detection piece along with various fixes. So take Toadhollow's advice and be very clear - Don't just drop it off and hope for the best!

I have heard that one strategy is to tell them that you want to wait for your car. The progman updates take something like 4 hours so that should give them some motivation to just change the oil.
