Oil Change Interval Reset

I just had my oil change at 15,000 miles as part of the free maintenance, since it has been a year since I had purchased the car.

Before the oil change, the computer said 4,000 miles to go until the next oil change. After the oil change, it still says 4,000 miles to go.

Did the dealer forget to reset the computer?

If not, what would happen after 4,000 miles. Will the car ask for another oil change whenever I start the car?

Would I be able to go to a different dealer and get another oil change when the computer calls for it?

Yes, they forgot. Tell them to reset it.
