Customize at Europe Delivery?
Anyone ever tried getting some mods done while in Europe or will BMW? Things like AC Schnitzer or Alpina for the 335i convertible is what Im looking at. And can you still do custom colors from BMW?

I think you'd have a hard time getting a car modded in Europe back into America. It's all about emissions standards and a car that has been modded can no longer be shipped as US spec. You might just try and do it on the down low, but if you get caught, your car might spend a loooooooooooooong time in bureaucratic purgatory.

If you modify the car, they will either restore your car to original specs at the port/before delivery and you will lose any modifications you had put on or possibly refuse to allow it to pass customs at all.
Anything you leave in the car which is not us-standard equipment will also be removed. So, if you want to keep the safety triangle, 1st aid kit and whatever else they give you thats required for a car on the road in Germany, take it out before you drop the car off. Non US-spec colors/options are not available for car purchased for US delivery |
