Sirius Radio - for free?
Hello all!
I'm new to the forum but i can already tell its an excellent resource for e90 info! My question is: I just purchased a 2006 e90 w/ factory Sirius Radio. The car is still covered under factory warranty (not sure if that matters) but i HAVE been able to use my Satellite radio. I did not give any credit card info to anyone, nor did i sign up for anything when i purchased the vehicle. Does anyone know when a subscription ends or if bmw has some sort of partnership for limited lifetime satellite channels? I'm just wondering if sooner or later itll just end. I don't want to call Sirius to ask and have them cancel my subscription either. ![]() Thanks in advance for your help. |

I'm assuming you bought it used, in which case you're probably just riding out the remainder of the previous owner's subscription. When I sold my 2006 330 I had prepaid sirius for a year, so the new owner got it for free during that time.

It may run out eventually, it may not. Just enjoy it for free and make the decision about paying if it stops working. Their administrative systems/process is pretty poor and it seems like often the service doesnt get turned off if even if the previous owner moved their subscription to another radio.
Sometimes the 3-month trial that you get when you 1st buy the car never expires too. My mother-in-law bought an acura TSX 3 years ago, never signed up for the service but 3 years later its still going strong. |
