My new tuning setup - what do you guys think about this?

Hi,

I have an 2008 E92 335i auto with one of the latest DME programs installed (29,2+).

I have been running Procede for a long time now and I'm very happy with the performance of this tune. My car is bone stock except for the V3.

I did try a Swedish flash from a swedish company (NOT ESS) - long story short - a big mistake (limps, tune detection code triggered etc). Procede is another world in all aspects! For a long time I thought a flash is superior... leasson learned..

Now I see the spring coming and I want to take the next step with my car. My plan is this setup:

-V3 stage 3 map
-Catted downpipes from AR
-Helix IC
-BMS DCI
-94 otane Shell V-power premium gas (always)

Will this be a good setup? I know Shiv is recomending catless exhaust for Stage 3 but that is out of question for me. Personally I can not justify the pollution for a small power gain.

Any feedback is most welcome , BR
/Tobias

Hi Tobias, i will have exact the same setup, but with a new car with DCT gearbox.
I will probably try to go complete catless and use meth on next m5boardevent.
See you there!

Tobias--you can still gain some power from an exhaust with a cat over stock exhaust.

^^true?

Hi,

My flash was not from ESS - IMO they have great products!

Thanks for the feedback - do you see any problems with Stage 3 map considering this setup of supporting mods?

Another thing to consider would be an Autobahn Exotics catback with racing cats as the secondaries... free up the rest of your exhaust without polluting as much as catless

Considering the 94 octane and northen latitude, I would guess at it being fine. If you head south, you may want to consider running the Stage 2 maps.

That goes to show that not all flash tunes are created equal and that a flash does not guarrantee it to be better than a piggy.
