It was not just one dealer but 4 of them. I talked to BMWNA about that crap and all they kept telling me is dealers are not under their control etc. My home dealer is awesome, but I travel and live far away on occasion and can't afford to always go there, so the question is why have a car if service is major PITA anywhere but the purchase dealer? My CA even tried to arrange the buyback and the GM at the dealer had no issue with it. He agreed too that it was within reason to ask for it. But I bulked because I would loose all sunk mod money plus "the part of car I had used already" meaning I'd have to fork over some cash to get a new stock 335. It was not an appealing option especially a new car was also an unknown quantity that might turn out to be just as troublesome. I hedged on keeping the devil I know. should never have test driven the 335 and gone with the IS350 I liked after one test drive.

Honestly I feel stupid to some extent. Why? Because I had sworn off BMW before I got the 335. This is my 5th 3 series man, had them all from the 87 model on up, and one POS e46 M3 in the mix. The 87 and E36 were bullet proof. My run of bad luck started with a true lemon among lemons of the M3. Traded it after one year for the 330 whose only fault was 2 tranny failures. I paid out of pocket for second unit then found out it was a GM tranny. Wow, imagine that! In a BMW with BMW pricetag! I loved the car despite everything, but when the third tranny started showing signs of impeding trouble, I ditched it.

Coincidentaly the 87 was bought second hand with 80K and never broke a thing till I got tired of it. It was a pig though. The e36 328is was a demo I got with 9K on it. Awesome car! The kicker is the last 3 cars were all acquired brand new and all have had maddening things go wrong. Go figure! 335 won me back to BMW, but now I think the love affair has wanned. I am completely open to another brand that wont have all the issues with the cars and sucky customer service. For a customer who bought 5 3 series bimmers, BMW never treated me like I mattered at all. Infact my current dealer is the only one that has shown customer service matters to them.

I have a Toyota RAV4 forexample. It cost just over half my bimmer, is ten times more reliable. Its an 08 has 18K and not a single hiccup out of it, (For comparison sake my 335i has been in the fucking shop exactly 12 times in the 15K I have had it, and stalled on me 3 miles from delivery center at ED [search for my june 07 ED post on here], and had to be towed into local dealer there. How is that for reliability?) and dealers customer service is twice as good. I was in love with BMW and they could do no wrong so I torelated a little too much. BMW will have to work very hard to earn my business next time is all. Not saying never again, Im just really completely open minded now.

i'd def buy another BMW

16k miles--

service done:
2 HPFPs
1 Clutch
Rear brake pads/rotors
New half shaft (snapped)
1 oil change

Shit that needs to be fixed now:
rear driver side speaker rattles? sometimes?
oil condition sensor? whatever the fuck that is
catalyst temp sensor? ^ same

not too bad, considering I drive it REAL hard

my jeep required 500 a month in parts failing, ill never buy another american car

atleast BMW covers everything

OMG, vase. I certainly cannot blame you for not getting another BMW after what you've been through. I've never heard of any dealer (nevermind multiple dealers) not wanting to fix a car or work with a loyal customer to get things resolved. . If.I were you, I would seriously look into getting an Infiniti (had 2 of them and loved them) or a Lexus. G/L.

I have all bolt ons and have tried almost every tune and not one problem with my car and just hit 23,000 miles on a 2008 e90 built in 10/07. Still pre 29.2 and no HPFP failure. I cjange the oil at every 5000 miles and I changed the plugs at 15,000 ( a little early but I was curious ) and still running strong. Knock on wood!

I also went over the 30k mark a couple of days ago. Minus the fuel pump (still on the first one), I'm kinda like you. I took it in twice for brake squealing from slow acceleration and a couple of minor stuff. Scheduled the 30k maintenance already, hopefully I can get a 1 series loaner, heh.

I'm about to hit 40,000 MILES!!!

Crazy stuff huh, but anyway its a March 07 build and currently has the dreaded 29.2 software....so far I've done:

1. 2 Bmw Oil changes
2. Personal oil change
3. Full set of new tires (2 sets on the rear)
4. 15k maintenance
5. 30k maintenance
6. Something around the fuel area when someone tried to syphon gas during the Hurricane.

Honestly, I haven't had too many problems with this baby..other than the nonstop knocking I've been getting for a good 5k miles...Spark plugs? probably I just don't have the time to remove everything and take it in!

Can you explain the clunky rear door. My e90 makes a squeak noise from the rear drivers door whenever I back out of my inclined driveway. The door seal was replaced and the noise was gone for a month, but recently cam back. Thanks

Bought Dec 2006, 17K miles

Entire gauge cluster replaced (interestingly oil gauge range changed )
Rear tail light replaced twice
Rear tail light assembly replaced
Oil Cooler retrofit (thank you BMW NA)
Two oil changes, etc

Fairly reliable so far. Still feels tight as a drum. Still accelerates hard.
