1 year service
Besides an oil change, what other maintenance is required for the 1st year service? It has been a year now and I'm planning on getting the oil changed. This will be free at the dealer right? How long will it take? Will I need a loaner?

Mine didn't automatically go in at a year. Its first service was based upon the first oil change which, for my car, happened to be at 17,500 miles. Since it was a lease, I didn't pay for more frequent changes that I would have done had I planned to keep the car.
FWIW, I called at 10,000 miles, again at 14,000 miles (1 year) to see if perhaps the oil meter was malfunctioning and did my car need service and was told repeatedly not to bring it in until the car told me to.

I currently have 6,000 miles and the car just turned a year. So I should wait?

I'm planning on getting one each year. I'll drive about 7,500 a year.

When I called BMW, they told me to wait for the counter to run down, but for people who drive unusually low miles -- and I cannot remember the number -- to bring it in annually under warranty. But you don't just get a free annual maintenance unless you're under that low mileage limit.
