HELP! Stuck on Parrot install!

I got the Parrot ck3000 evolution, the sot-976 harness and multican for the e90.

I tried installing the parrot by itself before the multican to make sure all that works ok. It certainly ISN'T as easy as plug and play! Here I my problems with the ck3000:

1. Assuming the spare red wire (coming out of one of the harness plugs) is for a switched 12v, I'm assuming I will have to somehow get this to one of the ciggi lighters...?? Pin 15 is supposed to be a switched 12v but I get nothing when I poke the spare red wire into it. The system does power on when I stick the red wire directly into a permanantly live 12v though....

2. I have a spare plug coming from the parrot with the mute cables etc on it and nowhere to plug it.

3. There are two cables with detatchable connectors in-line coming out of the harness plug that plugs into the head unit. One is on pin 10 and the other on pin 11. I assumed these would be for the multican high/low wires, but multican requires pins 9 and 11. Pin 10 seems to work as the telephone mute...

http://www.parrot.com/documents/en/s...ulticanbmw.pdf

Does this now mean I have to chop into the wire for pin 9? I thought this was suppoed to plug and play? I don't want to mess anything up...!

Also when I did get it going before I tried the multican and sticking the ignition 12v wire into a permenant feed, the sound quality of the woman talking form the parrot unit was really muffled and hissy - is this normal for a parrot??

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks is advance!

Ok, so I think I've got a little further from reading more posts....

I think I can wire the switched 12v to the fuse for the ciggi lighters... Can I do this with a fuse tap?

This only has power cable (which I think I've sorted in no.1 above) and the mute from the parrot can go directly to the mute input on the head unit as there is already a connector there for it.

Looks like I will have to tap into wires 9 and 11 manually for the multican...

I have had a brainwave on this one..... The outputs from the head unit must be LINE LEVEL, as they are going to the amp in the boot. As I understand it, the output of the parrot is ALREADY amplified and designed to connect to the speakers DIRECTLY. So as it stands with the current wiring harness, it is connecting the alresy amplified parrot to the line level circuit of the head unit. This is then being sent to the amp to be amplified even further! This explains why it sounded so loud and the hissing and popping I guess......

SO - how do I get round this. I suppose I could run cables to the OUTPUTS of the AMP in the boot. A pain..... but it might work.... but then again wouldn't the output of the main amp be working against the circuitry of the parrot and damage it??

OR

Can I use the TEL+ and TEL- connections on the head unit? Pins C6 and C12 according to this post:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=pin+mute

Has anybody used these TEL inputs before, and do they work??
