Take it to the dealer, If BMW doesn't cover it, Dinan will. At worst case you can get the clutch kit that VK motor is coming out with. It will be available in all the stages of the spec clutches, and will still probably be cheaper than stock.

honestly i cant see how Dinan will cover it. Anybody show proof that Dinan has replaced a clutch in the past for a situation like this. Additionally from what i read in the past the bmw dealers seem to be more willing to replace the clutch once during the initial 50k regardless of tune.

let us know how it turns out !

Interesting, my clutch has just started to act wierd and I am at 21,000 miles. No raciong or tracking, and no 6k clutch pops.. Sifting from 4-5 or 5-6 on the highway and it doesnt let go right away, it fades off. It is almost like a CDV that stays on too long. Is that what is considered "slipping"?

Honestly I have been driving MT all my life and treat the clutch well. I was very shocked when it first slipped at relatively low mileage.

Any feedback/advice appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Update: Took my car to the Dealership. Told them it had Dinan. They were very welcoming about the Dinan and even worked with the Dinan rep (behind the scenes) to make sure everything worked smoothly. Before opening up the clutch, they warned me that if the clutch was abused it wont be covered under warranty! I told them to proceed as I never abused the car. 2 days later I got the car back. The service slip read:

"Wear pressure plate causing clutch disk to overheat and damage flywheel. Removed clutch and inspected for damage. Found pressure plate weak and flywheel heat checked. repl clutch ass'y and flywheel"

Warranty covered. They even re-flashed the car with Dinan Stg 2 as they had to reflash the car for another job and Dinan was lost. Very professional no hasstle. 0$.
Thanks for the update. Very reassuring for us Dinan guys.

Now, aren't you glad you didn't debadge?

I never ever ever regret paying the $2k price tag for Dinan for this exact reason... you made a wise decision and it paid off... =P CONGRATS!
