will a 335 start w no intercooler??

as the title states, will it run w/ the intercooler removed? Just idle, obviously the engine and ecu are going to be out of whack, i'm sure it will go into a limp mode if it even starts.

Anyone tried?

It will start just fine, and idle just fine. If you try to rev it, and it doesn't see the boost, that's when you'll throw a code.

gotcha, I know when I installed my Helix FMIC a year or so ago I forgot one clamp and got excited and started the car. It threw a code while idling and went into limp........so thats about what I would expect w no intercooler.

Just want to know if my car can be moved while the stock intercooler is sitting where my passenger seat once was....lol

You will be able to start-up and even drive your car without an IC. Just go easy on the throttle. Because your turbos will try to generate boost. Boost that will not build and a limp/code will ensue. But you should be just fine idling and casually cruising around.

If I remember what your car looked like you're not going to be driving around too far anyway.

Sorry man...hope you get a nice new one...

cool thanks.

i'm just concerned about the insurance company taking my car and not being able to start it when they were able to when they saw it. As long as it starts they will be happy.

I started it yesterday after jumping it and it threw codes left and right.....literally every light on the dash came on, it was crazy! Guess thats what happens when half the car is missing.

I was going to do some drifting yesterday around the parking lot.....that would be a seriously funny video. It still seems to run fine...at least idle even w/ all the codes going off. I was revving the crap out of it once it warmed just to hear the exhaust again and smell the 104 octane that was in the tank.....yummy.

Why do you want to start the car without an intercooler?

Why did I know that this thread would materialize? Just chuck that thing in the trunk and call it a day.
