AC Schnitzer Type 4's

Just been offered a set of these on 20's for a decent price.

Black with chrome lip - only thing is ive never seen them on anything,

Has anyone seen these in the flesh and would they look good on a sapphy black 335d SE - thinking the chrome lip and chromw window surrounds might match nicely..

Hmm.... thats what im thinking ...

Prob is ive been offered them for £1150 ... with 500 miles on them from a BMW main dealer mate!

New these retail at over £4k with tyres!

Tempted to get em, use them for a while and then sell them on for what i paid.

My wife is so gonna kill me.

You guys are not helping

... but glad you see my dilemma re the pricing! Just waiting for the guy to send me through some pics and tyre depths before i say yay or nay.

Guess there will always be a market for genuine second hand schnitzer stuff.

Does anyone know if you can run 20's on the e92 without any arch scrubbing/full lock issues?

the 20s do rub you cant lower or space out without probs.

They are nice and will go on if they are non staggered, my dealer did one on white but they rub standard, so i cant go with it being lowered

i had a good chat with the sales manager at the time. the 20s on his car did not rub on msport suspension and had no turning issues either. surely it depends on if he had the right ACS fitting kit to go with them.

comments made to me from the sales manager who was running them were

"dont buy them, they're crap. they ride really hard and you will feel every imperfection in the road. they also buckle easily keep your optional 19s you have on now, they are much better..." or something along those lines (this was over a year ago mind u so i apoligise if i dont remeber the exact wording. its as close as i can recall)

he did however manage to bugger every single one of them, down to poor driving? who knows but if theyre 'straight' they are a good deal for that money you have been offered, if theyre staggered theyre an even more attractice buy but to use daily on 20s with such low profile tyres wud surely feel like crap? think u need a 25 profile for a 10inch rear?

Garage was North Oxford BMW. the new price they offered me was much much more than what you wud be paying for them now tho.

I looked into getting a set of those Magic Blacks but they have a reputation for being easily bent.

It`s a great price but difficult to sell on as most people will want 19`s rather than 20`s.

They arent staggered wheels, and i think the driving will be an issue as ive spoken to a mate who managed to buckle a similar rim mounting a curb!!

Id be crying if i had to hand over £1k for one rim!
