Wandering Wing Mirror & Crashing iDrive

Having taken the car to the dealers again to sort out the wandering passenger wing mirror (it just doesn't seem to hold memory and randomly chooses different positions about 75% of the time the car's started) and the crashing iDrive (it's rebooted while driving, twice this year), they are convinced that it's a software issue and want the car for two days to 'reprogramme' it.

Sounds like a long time for this sort of thing - anyone alse have a similar experience?

Does it have something to do with the fact that the system first has to 'go to sleep' and then the dealer downloads the latest information from HQ overnight before uploading it to the car??

At least that's what I've been told with other cars.

It's nice to have all the gizmos but a real PITA when they go wrong - and I hate 'lectronics - the devil's work

Garage List
I doubt programming will do it - I got mine updated to the latest version two days ago and today my driver's wing mirror has decided to move to the downmost position when I switch off the ignition (wasn't doing this until today). I have to manually adjust it each time I get in the car.
