Just wash and clean it. I cleaned my k&n filter intake on my Lexus every 6 months since they say it performs better as dirt builds up on the filter. Just buy a k&n recharge kit (around $20).
I just cleaned the k&n filter on my Gruppe M Intake and i was really dirty. |

i just did this on my simota after 15000 miles (I would suggest cleaning every 8000-10000 miles though)
Get a K&N recharge kit, just don't use the oil that is included as these are dry filters. All you have to do is one night, remove the intake and take out the filter. Then you just douse it in cleaning solution and rinse with water. Let it air dry over night and put it back in the next morning before you head out for the day. Easy as pie. You probably could use the same filter for over 100,000 miles before it starts to wear down. |
