Apartments in the beantown area
Long story short I'm graduating this may. I'm temporarily assigned to the boston area from Aug until mid Jan. I am looking for an apartment that is pretty close to Boston, furnished, obviously good parking, and doesn't mind I'm only in the area for a short time.
I'm being given around 1400 a month for rent. Thanks guys

You might want to look at Arlington and Belmont

Try my friend's real estate company, they rent out a lot of apartments around that price range. If you call, his name is Jon: http://www.properrg.com/

By "good parking", do you mean a dedicated spot, a garage spot, lots of street parking, a driveway? Furnished for 1400? That will be tough. My recommendation would be to find a sublet or some other sharing scenario. If it's a 2-bed, a $2800 2-bed would be pretty nice and would probably get you what you were looking for. Start checking places like Craigslist right now, or put up your own post on Craigslist. |

I'm not looking IN boston, just the area. I have a few prospects in Waltham, maybe Watertown, and Quincy. Might even just stay around Milton. Luckily my housing allowance might actually be 1600+ so I have some leg room without dipping into my own salary.
I don't want to look around to find a spot at my own place and I dont want it to be a mad house to fear for my car's dear life. I've survived living on a college campus... would like to keep the survival rate lol.

You should be able to find a place in Boston, Somerville or Cambridge. Easily.
Unless you're expecting to "move on up" to some "apartment in the sky" (re: Prudential, Harbor Towers, etc).

I wouldn't say easily with the crumbling RE market. A lot of people are now bargain hunting and looking to rent instead of buy. The higher end rental segment is suffering though as a result.
If you look at OP's requirements, it is tough to meet at that price point (furnished with
